Who we are
De Jam Festival is the brainchild of Anthony Brightly, a successful entrepreneur with over twenty years experience running music recording companies (Sir George Records and Bright Choice Records Ltd.), a music publishing company (Brightly Music) and a music recording studio (Sir George Recording Studios), as well as managing performing artists and owning and operating a series of bars and nightclubs in London, England (Chimes Bar, Pegasus Bar and Maksims Nightclub).
Anthony moved to Antigua in 2000 and recognized it as the perfect setting for a gathering of the best international DJs along with their followers, to celebrate the art-form in true style. He approached the Antigua and Barbuda Ministry of Tourism for their support and in collaboration with his UK based partner Patrick Berry, of RJS Promotions, moved the action to the Caribbean.
The event is designed to attract individuals throughout Europe, America and other parts of the world to enjoy seven days of music from established DJs from around the world.
The De Jam Festival is for music lovers and includes a range of activities such as beach parties, boat cruises, gala dinners, club nights and more, enabling visitors to experience the beauty of the Island whilst enjoying music from their favourite DJs. The Festival has helped to create greater awareness of the Islands of Antigua and Barbuda in the Caribbean and has positioned the destination as one of the ‘hip’ locations for the gathering of the best and hottest Music DJs from around the world.
The first De Jam Festival took place in 2004. The event attracted approximately 300 visitors from Europe, America and, from as far as, Japan. International DJs such as Stone Love, the world’s number one reggae sound system, Mistri, Rampage, Daddy Ernie, 90%, Hyper Esq, Sir George and After Dark took part encouraging their music followers to join them in Antigua and Barbuda. In 2005 the Festival saw over 26 DJs from the UK, Germany, Italy, Canada, New York, Washington, Miami, Los Angeles, Jamaica and Antigua take part in a spectacular event as the Festival made an amazing impact on the Island.
Now in its fifth year, the De Jam Festival has taken root and established itself as the premiere DJ event in the entire Caribbean.
